Merry Christmas and happy holidays! I hope everyone is enjoying some well deserved time off with family (that must be the "life" I keep hearing about when someone says "Get a life!").

I, on the other hand, have taken the opportunity to do some overdue upgrades to the web site. For starters, we have now moved up to the DotNetNuke 4.4 platform, making us truly a .NET 2.0 web site. I had been fighting this move because everything was working well on the 3.x/.NET 1.1 platform, and if it's not broke, don't mess with it. Also, the last time I made a major upgrade move with DNN, it ended up screwing up my user database, which frankly hasn't been the same since.

But with the announcement that the 3.x platform is being sunsetted (i.e. no more upgrades or support), and also the release of version 4.4 with its many enhancements, it was time to take the big leap. Thankfully, everything seems to have gone smoothly, even with the database.

The MyGeneration team have released version 1.2 for general download. This is an important release because it removes the dependency on the .NET 1.1 platform, moving completely to a .NET 2.0 application. There are some bug fixes and enhancements as well, check out their forum post for more details.
